Working with the Bishopsgate Institute, Off the Record is
a response to a witty beermat found in their archive depicting
Mary Whitehall. Wondering how could the insanity of the pandemic
and the misleading government’s guidelines be documented
for further generations, but still having its absurd essence
preserved, these beer coasters were created.

They aim to defy the very idea of archiving: not merely
storing an item within a closed container and preserving
it ad aeternum, but rather bringing it back to its original
context and reviving the communal memory linked to it,
which strongly resonates with Bishopsgate Institute’s very premises.
