Leaving Your Mark is the result of a workshop with twelve
designers leaving their fingerprints as they designed each
page of Barthe’s The Death of The Author, serving as a visual
documentation of their decision-making and creative process.
By finding their way around the workshop’s instructions
and eventually subverting the text to their own desires,
the resulting publication reinforces the urge in us, creators,
of making ourselves visible in our work.
The final outcome was printed with a Risograph printer
on smooth paper, on which the ink does not fully dry,
inviting the readers to get their fingers dirty and leave
their own marks as they handle the book, adding a new layer
to the content contained within.
